 Ones, at the Christmas dinner in San Francisco my friends introduced to to Nina Hartley and she invited me to visit her and her husband in LA. I went and we became friends. She is really a great woman. Last time I sow Nina last year. She was doing a lecture for Anex in Bay Area and promoting her new book. The book is very interesting and I would totaly recomend it to everyone!

You know that from 1999-2003 I was going to Cannes as a special correspondent for "MOSCOW PRAVDA" "NOVY VZGLYAD". I was looking for people I could do my film with and to get to know who is who and what they do. During this years I published many interviews with directors who I was interested at that time.  Another my old photo. I hope to take more b/w pictures. Not too long ago I met a very beautiful American girl and got inspired. She is a dancer. Very tall and with amazing body... She agreed to work with me. Hopefully I will find time and I can make picture of her and make a photography book of nude bodies one day. I would love to do that... And I like to do it old style. Shoot on film and make photographs in the dark room... I like that process very much. I miss it. |

As I started to talk about music I found a few Japanese songs that I really like. I decided to post them here so me and you can listen to them at any time. With this is songs I grew up in Japan... All af this songs I was singing in karaoke every day!!!!! Many of them I know by heart and I can sing to you even if you wake me up in the middle of the night! I love them...I love Japanese KARAOKE!!!

Ones upon the time (1998), I was posing for a Japanese gun magazine. Here in California, in San Meteo. You know that guns are prohibited in Japan, but they have a magazine, that features toy guns, that look like real ones and also they do tests of a real guns and write about it... The gun that I hold was real.... |

 Here is some of my first black and white photos I took in my life.  It was "Introduction to Photography" class in my Art school in San Francisco in 1999.
 
I did series "Bodies, fruits and vegetables". Growing up in a conservative family, it was the beginning for me of being open about my curiosity about phyisical aspect of our life and about sex.
The original collection of this photos has been shown and sold in Tokyo and is on permanent display since 1999 in San Francisco's famous cafe "Steps of Rome" on Colombus str. in North beach.

Today I spend all day at the Stingston beach. It was great! Beautiful day! I even looked for houses for rent around there... Why not rent a holiday home for a week or so? Or even for a weekend. It's very peacefull and neutral at the beach. I don't feel there like I'm in America and I have to fit in. It's just me and the ocean. It gives me power. And then I went to see a film "Ten Canoes". I missed it in Telluride last year.

I love ocean. I was thinking to go for holidays to the ocean to relax my constantly runing brain. I was thinking about Hawaii, becasue I don't need a visa to go there. Then I realize that we have an ocean right here in San Francisco and I never go there, becasue I always think it's cold. So I went and loved it!
On the way, I stoped in one of my favorite places - "Cafe Bazar" that located on California street and 21 Ave. It has a great garden and it's owned by the Japanese woman and her husband, so some food there is Japanese and it's very cheap and very good. Usualy I get there unagi bowl or vegitarian curry. |

I find painting to be like a relationship. You paint and it doesn't work. You want to quit, but then if you continue, it gets better and better and if you keep working on it it becomes beautiful and you love it. |

I LOVE CIRCUS! Ones upon the time I had a boyfriend - loose rope walker. He was very talented and walked on the loose rope every day since he was 12 years old. He showed me Big Moscow Circus inside out and it was quite incredible. I sow dragged animals - to take a photo with PANTERA for example or a TIGER - they have to be on drags. I learned that to teach the dogs some tricks, you have to really beat them up. Same you have to do to an artist. So a lot of S&M there. People are like a meat. They work very hard and do not get much pay. But they love what they do and it is a lot of ADRENALIN there. So it is very addictive...And BEAUTIFUL... It was december of 2005. The pick of our romance, when Dima was invited to Rome to participate in the International Circus Festival that goes on there every year around Chrismas. I went with him. In Rome our romantic relationship looked like that. 
But it didn't stop us from being friends. I liked to spy on him.
And he was thinking how to make his performance better.
When I would start to feel lonely, I made a new friends - one was a lion and tiger tamer! He was from an old Italian dynasty of Lion tamers.
I was afraid to come close to his animals. I really wanted to touch lions hand, that would stick out from the cage, but I was scared. 
The lion would look right in my eyes. And it seemed like he knew me for a long long time. He knew everything about me. All my thoughts and fears. Everything, that even I didn't know.... So I would always get scared and look away. Now I think that I wasn't scared of a lion. I was scared about what he knew about me that I didn't know.
I also made friends with acrobats from North Korea. They were amazing performers! Just incredible! They didn't speak English, so no one could talk to them. But the head of their group could speak Japanese and I could talk to them in Japanese.
They all wear pins of KIM IR SEN their great leader, who's already died long time ago. I was surprised. I asked why they don't wear the pins with his son, the new president of North Korea? They told me it is because he doesn't call himself a great leader. But his father did. So, There is only one great leader in North Korea. Like V.I. LENIN was for us. I asked them to give me one pin for memory, but they they said they not allowed to do that. Later, they made some KIMCHI for me.
After two weeks I left Rome. The show continued...

When I started to make my movie in Russia in 2005, I did this photo shoot for Russian "Elle" in S.Peterburg. It was funny, because no body knew me and what am I about. They just knew that I'm making my first film.  
The stylist brought some clothes from some sponsors stores... They dressed me up. And started to take pictures. I liked it, but it was strange, becasue there was no concept about the photographs and I thought that clothes didn't reflect at all who I was at that time.   The woman who did an interview with me, found my story very interesting and when she found out that I want to publish a book about my life in Japan, she introduced me to her friend, the head of publishing company "Amfora". He asked me to send him three first pages. I did and I got a contract.  The production of a movie stoped. The article didn't come out. My book got published one year later. |
